How blacksea works for customers
In this article:
Buying without an account
Customers can buy on BlackSea with or without an account. If they create an account, they can access their purchases through the BlackSea library anytime.
We identify customers by the email address they enter at checkout. Those without an account always have access to the content through the link in their receipt.
Sometimes we ask customers to re-enter their email for extra security — so that your product is only accessible to the person who bought it.

Receipts and invoices
After a purchase, the customer receives a receipt by email with a link to download the product. The receipt also includes a license key, if applicable.
If a customer didn't receive their receipt, see this article.
How do card payments work?
Customers can pay with cards from Ukrainian and international banks — by entering their card details directly, or via Apple Pay or Google Pay. A card can also be saved to a BlackSea account. The full list of payment methods is in the buying guide.
Why purchases fail
Sometimes a purchase doesn't go through. There can be several reasons; the most common are:
- the customer's card has insufficient funds;
- the bank declines the payment — the customer should ask their bank to allow payment on BlackSea;
- the browser or IP address looks suspicious to our system — it's worth trying a different browser, device, or network.
How do I make a test purchase of my own product?
To check how purchases work and how files are delivered to customers, we've built a test purchase feature. Please do not pay for your own products with a real card — our payment partners may treat this as fraud.
